Tendonitis is a term often used for repetitive use strain. Tendonitis is more common in people whose activities and jobs involve repetitive movements, awkward positions, consistent overhead reaching and forceful exertion. This painful condition results from inflammation in the tendon. Tendonitis can happen to any tendon in the body. Common areas for tendonitis include the bicep tendon, patellar tendon, hamstring attachment at the pelvis, achilles tendon, elbow (tennis elbow/golfer’s elbow) and wrists. Renew Movement™ targets the overused/tight muscles that are causing the muscle and tendon strain.
Renew Movement™ opens the muscle belly by strategically and systematically pinning adhesions (knots) while coaching our clients through active movement. This approach reduces the amount of tension on the tendon; giving the tendon space to recover from inflammation and pain.
If your tendonitis has been a long term, chronic issue, it’s possible your Renew Movement™ Coach will suggest you sign up for a full Renew Evaluation to look for asymmetrical patterns in your movement that may be leading to chronic muscular tightness. Tendonitis can cause a lot of discomfort, limiting your ability to participate in everyday movements. It’s important to find the underlying cause of this common ailment for relief and ease of movement/exercise.
