  • Difficulty walking up or down stairs

What is Knee Pain?

General knee pain can be caused by a variety of different issues: posture, activity, inactivity, compensation, overuse (exercise), and/or genetics can all play a role in how knees function.  Most knee pain is caused by overuse and incorrect alignment; muscles being too strong, too weak or inactive. Renew Movement™ is a systematic approach to pinning deep muscle adhesions (knots) while the client actively moves and stretches to release the adhesions from the inside, thus creating balance in the knee joint. This new balance in the joint both improves movement and functionality while reducing knee pain. Renew Movement™ modalities target the muscles that are overactive, overused or pulling the knee out of alignment. It can revive the muscles that have prevented the knees from moving normally, allowing the bones to glide properly, reducing or eliminating knee pain.

A history of knee surgery can lead to chronic knee pain, lack of knee extension, and a host of other issues both in the knees and other areas of the body. Post surgery it’s common to see challenges with knee extension, mobility and difficulty with movements like climbing or descending stairs. These issues often stem from the tissue above and below the knee tightening in reaction to surgical intervention. Renew Movement™ modalities are a great alternative to regaining mobility post surgery when you’re cleared for deep tissue treatments by your doctor.
